As you may have heard, the Kick Off Parade and Grand Parade have been combined this year. All normal judging that previously took place at the Kick Off Parade will still take place at the Grand Parade. However, many of you will be excited to hear that the Alliance Firefighters Local 480 have decided to host a Pump In Parade this year during the Pump In festivities.
2016 Carnation Festival
August 5 - 21, 2016
Honoring Alliance as the Carnation City, the Greater Alliance Carnation Festival is a festival full of parades, food and fun throughout the community. Throughout the festival week(s), there are more than 30 fun-filled events. There is truly an event for everyone!
Princesses 12 years and younger are invited to spend the afternoon with the Greater Alliance Carnation Festival Queen and her court as they help you create your one of a kind princess crown. Have your picture taken with the Queen and her court! One lucky princess will even win her very own Princess tea set.
Gardeners are invited to exhibit their finest home grown cut flowers and cut leafy material on Saturday, August 13th, at the Carnation City Mall. Area gardeners are encouraged to bring entries for the classes listed on the attached info sheet, remembering that a specimen is a single, cut flower grown by the person who enters the flower.
The 21st annual Carnation Golf Scramble will be held on Friday, August 5 with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Men's, women's, and mixed divisions. Mixed teams must have at least 2 women. $65 per person includes golf fees, lunch, and more.
The Style Show is back this year and the theme will be "Highlight on Fashion". The event will take place on Sunday, August 21st, at the Alliance Country Club.
Doors open at 12:30 p.m. with heavy hors d'oeuvres being served until 1:30 p.m. The style show begins at 2 p.m.
Cost is $25.00 per person. Tickets will be on sale soon.
