Thanks to collaboration between WRMU 91.1 and the Greater Alliance Carnation Festival Saturday's fireworks show will be a Pyro Musical event for the whole city. Morgan Engineering and MAC Trailer contributed some extra funds in addition to Fireworks Sponsor's Walmart and GE Appliance Center. these extra funds made it possible to create a Fireworks show choreographed to music.
2010 Carnation Festival
July 29th - August 15th
Honoring Alliance as the Carnation City, the Greater Alliance Carnation Festival is a week of parades, food and fun throughout the city.
An outdoor RibFest kicks off the annual festival. The three-day RibFest is located outside the Carnation Mall.
The festival is officially inaugurated Sunday with a kick-off parade from Park and Main Street to Glamorgan Castle. That evening, the Carnation Queen is crowned and her court is selected.
Continuing throughout "Festival Week" are many other events, including Ice Cream Socials, a Hot Air Balloon Lift-Off, Men’s & Women’s Golf Scrambles, and many many more.
Carnation Days in the Park takes place in Silver Park and runs Wednesday through Saturday and features food, craft displays and free live entertainment.
The festival ends on Saturday with a day filled of exciting activities. In the morning is the Grand Parade featuring more than 120 units. In the evening to finish off the week, a spectacular Fireworks show is presented for the community.
